Megan, my brindle Scottie was a traveler. Sometimes with me, sometimes without me. I was living on a busy thorofare between two cities. I would tie her up front to do her business since I did not have a backyard. One day I went to bring her back in and she was gone. Her collar and tie still lay in the front yard. Panic set in. I ran around the building and two others. No Megan. I grabbed my keys and jumped into the car to go find her. Where could she be? She hadn't been outside but five minutes. I looked up and down the thorofare, no Megan. Turned down the first road. No Megan. Drove through the neighborhood behind me. No Megan. Stopped and asked if anyone had seen her. No one had. I told them to keep an eye out for a brindle Scottie dog with a red bandana around her neck. I would circle back around if I wasn't able to find her.
I turned my car down one of the busy roads leading to another thorofare. In the distance, I see a little black dog running alongside the right side of the road, traveling with purpose. It was my little lost Scottie dog. I pulled up next to her, put my window down, and asked her where she was going. She looked at me the way only a Scottie can and kept walking. She had made it nearly one mile before I caught up with her. I parked my car in the middle of the road to get out to catch her. She got a good scolding, but she didn't seem to understand what the problem was. She was just traveling!
This is just one of my favorite memories of my sweet girl, Megan Sue the Flying Witch.
